Tulle Box

Hazy, vaporous, extravagant, she loses herself in a cloud of tulle. Those clouds are sometimes dark and ominous.

Or misty, like steam evaporating into the atmosphere.

In a swirl of wind. A hurricane of sort.

She is the picture of glamor.

Old fashion, glamor girl that she is.

Her personal cloud becomes an expression of extravagance.

Over the top, excessive, unapologetic, with a certain drag-queen elegance, in her world of tulle, more is better.

Light show

Her pale complexion serves as a blank canvas for the spectacle which begins. A play of darks and lights. sunshine and shadows, Gunilla is dressed in patterns of dots and stripes.

The sunlight simply repeats what she already knows.

The spots are everywhere, even lurking in the shadows, altering her flawless complexion.

It's as though she's hopelessly caught behind the Venetian blinds.

She peaks out once more to see if anyone notices.

Then bares herself only to discover she remains intricately dressed.

Black Satin

Dark, mysterious, sleek, sophisticated, sexy...... an interaction with black satin.

Peaking out from within.
She is the rare black rose.
Swathed in this sleek and shiny material, she goes with the flow of the moment.
It becomes a sublime wrap.
Timeless fashion.
The fabric of dreams.

About Gunilla...

Allow me to introduce the latest doll to enter the house. Her name is Gunilla, named after the 1960's and 70's sensation fashion model, Gunilla Lindblad.

She is a Swedish beauty from the Tonner Antoinette family with a different kind of charm. Icy blonde hair that glows like hot white coals. Her eyes, a cool drink of water.

Vanilla Gunilla's as sweet as white chocolate, as tangy as a frosty drink of lemonade on a hot summer's day.

I was drawn to Gunilla by her platinum blonde hair, her delicate complexion which contrasts the deeper, sultry looks of Tyra and Stella, and of course, her northern European look which I feel will spur on many creative adventures.

How Does Your Garden Grow

After a particularly difficult winter, we anxiously away all that Spring brings. After the freezing temps, the snow, the wind and the rain.....comes the flowers. So tell me. How does your garden grow?

She tiptoes through a garden of precious flowers.

Running unscathed through the rose bushes, coaxed by the gentle winds of spring.

In bloom amongst the tender pink petals.

She becomes a rose, herself.

Taking ownership of this new look.

She is  not limited to the rose garden. She wears a white iris like a fine dress.
Oh yes, she wears it proudly.
There are many new things to wear in this newfound garden of her dreams.

She blooms at different stages throughout her path in life.

Yikes, STRIPES!!!!

A study of stripes.

A study of contrasts.
Lost in a sea of contrasting stripes.

Sometimes an agitated sea of zebra like stripes.
Stripes that transport us in a variety of directions.
Stripes that always terminate in an elegant destination.

Disheveled...

My name is Stella. April has a great time taking pictures of me. She is inspired by contemporary fashion photography. Sometimes, it breaks with "conventional" rules of doll photography like....."Messy hair doesn't work with dolls. Comb her hair!"

Tyra & Friends Presents.....

Hello. My name is Tyra and I am the first fashion doll that my owner, best known as "April_n_Paris" acquired. April has two other blogs, "Fashion Doll Stylist," solely dedicated to creating very fashionable and trendy clothing for our 12-inch friends, Barbie and Fashion Royalty, and "Fashion Doll Diva" (on WordPress) which is technically her dolls' blog. There we can dish the dirt and say pretty much what's on our minds. In the year since launching those two blogs, we, the "big" girls in the house, have felt.....well......a bit left out.

Sure we can grab the keyboard away from our foot long colleagues. But very seldom do you see pictures of us. So me and my other 16 inch Tonner friends have decided to do our own blog which will feature the very creative fashion photography of April....but using us as models.

Like the others, this blog will always maintain a fashion feel. However, clothes are really not the focal point here. Our objective is to show off the doll as a supermodel capable of generating super pix!

We cannot promise how many times per week or month you can expect a post. But we can promise the photos here will always be fabulous....often without words.

So, Bienvenue. Happy the Meet You,

Tyra & Friends
